Hashim Amla resigns as South Africa captain

CAPE TOWN (Web Desk) South African cricketer Hashim Aml step down as Test captain of South Africa by the end of the 2nd Test against England at Newlands on Wednesday.

Amla, from helping the Proteas procure a credible draw against England in the 2nd Test at Newlands with a brilliant double ton fresh, will hand on the captaincy for the remaining two Tests in Centurion and the Wanderers.

Hashim Amla is not going to stand as captain in coming matches of series and said good bye.

Amla captained South Africa in 14 Tests, losing four winning four and drawing six.

The 32-year old has been under intense pressure lately after losing away series 3-0 to India and the initial Test to England by 241 runs in Durban last month.
